FAQ's

I AM VISITING Delhi and would like to visit you, is it possible?

I would love to meet you and would like a cup of tea/coffee with you, in case I would be in town and has not any other prior engagements. One can mail to me directly and I will always try to give the reply promptly. Moreover I myself will be calling many of you who register them on my website to spend a day with me for interactive sessions on financial markets as well as on life.

Now your book on financial markets has come, what next you have in mind?

I am working now on two books simultaneously. First one is fiction on financial markets and corporate world. The state of affairs and the deterioration of the moral values in the society at large have prompted me to make an attempt to describe the basic nature of human beings and to reveal the good and ills in all the sphere of business, politics, autocracy, bureaucracy, media, social and moral. It is a not just another story. It is an attempt to narrate the nature of man to derive happiness at the cost of others by forgetting its repercussion thereafter. This book is an attempt to reveal all that is happening every day in and around us.

The second one is a book on a Saint. A saint who has given me my name- Raj Krishan. Swami Gurucharan Dass Ji Maharaj, some called him Yogi, Saint & some called him Mahant, Mahatma, Maharaj. The Saint who has come for the enlightenment of masses! A Saint who knew all about the universe, life, death, life before life & life after life!  A Saint with a calm face like a moon, glowing face like of sun! One could feel a scared light in his eyes. Like we cannot gaze continuously to the sun, it was difficult to gaze continuously at his face and eyes.  Saint Shree 1008 Swami Gurucharan Dass Ji Maharaj, who had been President of All India Sadhu Samaj whose cottage (Kuthiya) is still in Kalanaur, had been an enlightened human-made life of people enlightened.  Sanathan Dharma had grown in his lifetime and Sanathan Dharma got its due recognition during his time.  To me he has been a true Saint, I can say with the totality of my heart -A divine soul. This book I am writing from my soul. I will feel blessed that day when I will be able to complete writing the book and it will get published.

I SUPPOSE IT IS ALTOGETHER DIFFERENT WRITING NON-FICTION AND A FICTION. IT IS AGAIN VERY DIFFERENT WRITING POETRY. HOW YOU SWITCH YOUR MIND TO FICTION AND THEN TO THE ALTOGETHER DIFFERENT DOMAIN-POETRY PROVINCE?

A writer creates with his mind heart and soul. God has given all of us a mind to think, heart, to feel and a soul to realize. A writer too feels, thinks and realizes all happening with him, around him and around the world. Non-fiction spans a wide range of subjects. Being in financial markets I was comfortable with writing on Investing, trading, and speculation as I have lived them, felt them and realized what are plus and minus points of each of them. This book took me on a marvelous journey and introduced me to people I would not ordinarily meet. It made me feel like I am not so far apart.

Being an emotional human being, my heart feels all of relationships and of life. On daily basis, I come across different people with different nature and mindsets. I see the state of affairs of the cities, the country. I to analyze the working of the system. All that together makes me write on all aspects of life. Poetry has no boundaries. Poet while living in this world is able to write anything he feels at any point in time.

Writing a novel is altogether different than writing non-fiction. Now as I am writing fiction on the financial and corporate world I delve myself much deeper into character’s psyche. Scene by scene I live, scene by scene I describe. Everyone makes efforts to create one thing or another. I do the same. A thing comes to mind, the mind starts working on to create and then I create. After creation, I improve my own creation

We keep reading the poetry of you; you put on the different social media like FB, LinkedIn. When are you planning to publish your books of poetry?

I will come with at least six books on poetry in Hindi and English in the year 2019.

WHAT ALL INSPIRE YOUR WRITING?

All of my writings are filtered through my eyes, my experiences, happening to me, with the people around me or around me. By God grace, my memory is very sharp. Happenings with me and around when I was a child, I was young, while I was studying, started my career and being in varied businesses helps me when I am writing. I want my characters to be believable. I want the story to be convincing. Mark Twain is quoted as having said, “It’s no wonder that truth is stranger than fiction. Fiction has to make sense.” He also said, “Fiction is obliged to stick to possibilities. Truth isn’t.” I am not a qualified literature person but I try to write good sentences-though simple ones.

How good you were in studies during your school time?

I was truly a bad guy, bad in studies too.  The school principal had told several times to my father to take me out of the school. A notorious school, notorious students and even some teachers were like criminals. Any small mistake of students, teachers made them posed like chicken and with the bursting of showers of a stick, a slim stick on the hips. First time at class six I read abcd of English. I remember I could not learn English well till I passed the school though I passed my matriculation with first class. Even in college, for me speaking in English was like wearing too-tight clothes.

I am coming to how my life took a turn as far as studies were concerned. There was some function in my family when I was in the seventh class. My Mama, mother cousin brother who was a school teacher in Delhi visited us. My mother, a worried mother, just casually complained of me “Brother, Ram Lal, please do something with this naughty boy. He is interested in just playing and quarreling with children and all the time teachers call his father to complain about his studies.”

Ramlal Mama looked at me from head to toe and then asked “How many marks you got in your last midterm examination in English and math?  “I got scared and said, “in English ten and in math zero.” He got terribly disappointed.

He then told me to translate one Hindi sentence into English “Kitaab maij ke neechey padi hai” A book is lying under table…and I could not translate that sentence. A sentence which a boy of 2nd class in these days could easily tell, I could not tell.  Still, with all the weaknesses, there was something in me which always kept my morale high.

As I could not tell a simple sentence in English, I got a big slap on my cheek by my uncle. Uncle told my mother to send both the brother to his home at around eight in the night for tuition. That incidence changed my life as far as academics were concerned and from then I never looked back and passed all examinations including the exam of CA in flying colors.

When did you decide to become a writer?

I never planned much in life and lived the life as it has come in front of me. A time came in my life when one after another project of me kept coming in losses and I had to close them. I landed at a position of almost zero liquidity. I am talking of liquidity, not assets. The backing of a good asset was there which enough to take care of my future needs was. But without liquidity, it was difficult to run any business. I went on doing trading as that was giving me at least a survival. That was giving me enough, enough of my routine expenses. I had a lot of spare time after trading hours and also on Saturdays and Sundays. I started passing my time writing. I started with writing poetry. Poetry is such a thing which one can’t write all the time. Something should come to heart and then only one can do good poetry. Then Whenever I was getting time I started writing on financial markets without a thought that I will get it published. It was all random writing on one topic or another. In a period of three-four years I was able to write more than a lack of words and then I thought to arrange all the topics in a book shape and get it published. And the book is with you now.

  1. All of my writings are filtered through my eyes, my experiences, happening to me, with the people around me or around me. By God grace, my memory is very sharp. How much time you are going to take to come up with your next book i.e fiction.

Before I come with the fiction, I will be coming with the Hindi edition of my book Investing, Trading and Speculation in India. Then a book close to my heart Spiritual Biography of a true saint, I will be coming with by God grace and blessings of Swami ji.

What is your day’s routine?

I get up by 7.30 to 8.00 in the morning. By 9.15 I am ready to trade stocks and commodities. What to trade I plan in advance at night and then go with the market as and how it opens. I am not a frequent trader so, amidst the trading time, I usually spend my time writing.

What does your study/working room look like?

My office is at the rooftop of my house. A small room- my study room with a study desk and a chair made of Sheesham look like antique furniture. There are two screens-one is for trading and another one is for writing and working. The room is small and full of books. A small bed is there to take rest as and when I feel a bit tired. Outside room is a conference room made with all Bamboos. Outside is open lying there are hundreds of pots of flowers and plants. At the corner of the roof is a fountain. There are easy moving chairs we usually sit and have our morning and evening tea.

Which is more satisfying to you-trading in the stock market or writing?

Investing and trading is my bread and butter for my body and writing I need daily to make my heart happy and my soul at peace.

HOW YOU RATE YOUR LIFE?

Mm, A very typical question is this. I can’t rate my life but I can say that God has always been kind to me for everything. He made me took birth in a family I am proud of. I am proud of my father and mother. Being born in a small city has been taught the ground realities of life, has been taught the meaning and worth of relationships. I am well qualified by God grace. I have seen almost all the things in life a rich person could see. I have seen everything in life a middle class, as well as a poor one, could see.

God blessed me with two intellect beautiful daughters who are now well settled in their life. God has given me a rational mind who could think rationally and that made me write on diverse topics that made me do poetry too. I am thankful to God and would rate my life ten out of ten.

In your book Investing, Trading and speculation in India what all you like the most?

I created in my book I liked all. They are my creations and all the creations to father are equally dear.

Who all were the inspirational people in your life?

I have a nature I could say is quite similar to my father who has been a fighter and who had been with the truth all through his life. He is the most inspirational figure to me in my life. Besides him, I have had several teachers who inspired me. Most inspirational was our Math teacher, Harnam Daas Arora ji. RSS and its swamsevaks (my colleagues at RSS) who had been with me during my college time have played a vital role in awakening my desires to study well and do something different in life as well go on doing according to the capacity for the well being of society at large.

What you think of life

It is a beautiful thing happened that I am born and come to this world to live the life. Life is beautiful. People say life is full of choices. I say life is with two choices. Everything in life comes to us with two choices. In the morning I wake up, I have two choices with me, I can choose to be in good mood or I can choose to be in bad mood. Anything bad happens to me I have again two choices, I can choose to be a victim or I can choose to learn from it. When someone comes complaining, again I have two choices, I can choose to accept their complaining or I can point out the positive side of life.

Still, it is not that easy to choose between just two. One has to cut away all the junk, every situation is a choice. One chooses how one reacts to one’s situation.

Everyone has weaknesses, me too. I have to plug my weaknesses to change my life…lot of efforts required for that.

I have to stop focusing on my negative aspects, my negative traits and start doing and working on the aspects I am good at.

Love and happiness come from within, and unless you’re ready to respect yourself for the positive person that you are, you’ll have a hard time loving yourself or getting any love from the world.

I agree that life many times become difficult, hard and challenging. I always tried not to allow hardships to paralyze me; rather I used those hardships to help me in discovering what I am…. Let me feel the pain…. let it is with me as long as it lasts…. let me see it dissolving away….I know pleasure and pain are merely a state of mind…..I know in a certain situation you and your mind tend to act accordingly.

Life becomes dull without these heart breaks as these mistakes, hardships, and challenges only will make you a strong man and your life charming. See, you have to live until you die. Then why to cry in a difficult time and why so much laughing and happiness in easy time…Everyone enjoys when life happens to be great…Mazaa to tab hai jab tu takleefo me bhi enjoy karey., takleefo ko bhi enjoy. Test of man is to enjoy, remain happy and laugh in difficult time.
